Welcome

The Puc Puggy Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is the oldest chapter in the Lady Lake and The Villages area. Our chapter was chartered on October 15, 1994. The organizing regent was Carolyn J. Foster. We participate in many community service projects. Our ladies have a huge heart for our veterans and disadvantaged children in our adjoining communities. Our chapter programs are diverse, and we take field trips to enhance our members' experiences and adventures.

About Us

William Bartram was a botanist who researched plant life in Florida in the 1770s. He lived with the Seminole Indians for a period of time, and they called him 'Puc Puggy,' the Seminole words meaning 'Flower Hunter.' Bartram discovered a tree native to Florida, which he named Franklinia in honor of his friend, Benjamin Franklin.

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit organization, formed in 1891 in Washington, D.C. NSDAR’s goals are the perpetuation of the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence by the preservation of historical relics and locations, as well as records of their individual service, the encouragement of research and publication of historical documents, the promotion of patriotism and love of country, and the support of educational facilities. The Puc Puggy Chapter, NSDAR, supports these goals.
