Scholarships

As one of the three objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), education is a critical component of the DAR mission. The purpose of the scholarship committee is to provide ways and means to aid worthy students to attain a higher education. Awards are made through the Florida State Society DAR, DAR Scholarship Committee. For information on the required application, deadlines, and documentation, please complete the contact form below.

Florida State Society DAR General Scholarships: Awards are made annually to students entering or enrolled in an accredited college or university. Applicants must be citizens of the United States, Florida residents, and sponsored by a local Florida DAR Chapter.

Edith Wright Hartley Medical Scholarship Fund: This scholarship is available annually to be awarded to graduate students doing medical research at the University of South Florida Medical School who meet criteria established by a university committee and representatives of the university.

American Indian Scholarship: A scholarship award is to be given to a Florida Native American. Applicants must be enrolled members of a Native American tribe, recognized at the federal or state level, and a resident of Florida.

Janet Ryan Memorial Nursing Scholarship: A scholarship award is given to a Florida resident student entering or enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
