As one of the three objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), education is a critical component of the DAR mission. The purpose of the scholarship committee is to provide ways and means to aid worthy students to attain a higher education. Florida State Society DAR General Scholarships: Awards are made annually to students entering or enrolled in an accredited college or university. Applicants must be citizens of the United States, Florida residents, and sponsored by a local Florida DAR Chapter.

Edith Wright Hartley Medical Scholarship Fund: This scholarship is available annually to be awarded to graduate students doing medical research at the University of South Florida Medical School who meet criteria established by a university committee and representatives of the university.

American Indian Scholarship: A scholarship award is to be given to a Florida Native American. Applicants must be enrolled members of a Native American tribe, recognized at the federal or state level, and a resident of Florida.

Janet Ryan Memorial Nursing Scholarship: A scholarship award is given to a Florida resident student entering or enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
